"You are changing people's lives." Julie Nelson
I hope you can find a way to become a private client via FaceTime [or Zoom] with Lynn Shuck. I live in AZ; Lynn lives in MN. I’m 82 years old. For two years, Lynn and I have had weekly sessions on FaceTime. These sessions—and the follow-up work I do with the exercises Lynn prescribes—have been a huge help in improving my aching back, my poor posture, my out-of-balance walk, and I’m sure much more. Lynn’s extraordinarily well-informed ‘eye' is as keen long-distance as it is in person. She can tell if my complaints about my hip are actually coming from my shoulder; if my complaints about my knee could be resolved by work on my hamstrings; if my overall strength can be improved if I ‘just’ do a particular isometric aligning exercise. And I have indeed become stronger and able to move in a way that lets my bones do actual “weight-bearing”. In fact, though I can’t be sure that this is due to working with Lynn, my latest bone density scan showed an improvement: moving from osteoporosis to osteopenia. Yes, I pay for these private sessions. But oh my, are they ever worth the price! ~ Carole Edelsky
I owe my mobility to Lynn Shuck. I firmly believe that without Lynn’s guidance, I would at least be on a cane and likely a walker for the rest of my life. I first started working remotely with Lynn 7 years ago. I was in very poor shape, difficulty moving --- weak, stiff, extensive pain in my hips and buttocks. A mutual friend suggested that I Skype with Lynn. Lynn watched me walk for a minute or two. Then said “I think I may understand --- let’s try this. If it works, you’ll know immediately; if not, we have other things to try. “ I remember my feeling of elation a minute later and my comment “I feel like I can fly!” I’m 83, three spinal surgeries, vertebrae fused from T12 thru L3, neuropathy in both feet (can hardly feel them). Over our years working together, with her sharp eye for seeing things and recommending corrective exercises and stretches, Lynn has helped me greatly with many issues of body movement --- balance, walking, flexibility, strength, relief of pain. Before Covid-19, I was even still rallying (not playing) at tennis. I recommend Lynn strongly. If you have problems with your body mechanics, Lynn can help a lot. Especially in this time of Covid-19 and lack of traditional exercising. Especially if you’re older. ~ Charles Buchanan
I started working with Lynn in 2005. I had just had my 4th surgery for my back and neck, and the Dr. told me that I could expect to be back to see him for more surgery in a minimum of 2 years time ... Within the first year of working with Lynn, I had stopped taking pain killers including Tylenol. By the second year, I had stopped wearing a cervical collar. By the third year, I found myself being aware of being grounded and unconsciously keeping my shin's forward and thighs back. Lynn is a compassionate and powerfully observant teacher whose use of transformation allows all levels of experience to grow and learn the power of Yoga. In the 5 1/2 years since I was fortunate enough to be able to learn and work with Lynn, my surgeon is amazed that I am doing so well, and have not needed the additional surgery that he thought I would need... I cannot endorse Lynn strongly enough. ~ David Laikind
Lynn used inventive strategies to loosen and relieve problem sports injuries and muscle issues. She gave needed suggestions for improvement and good sports health maintenance. I found her very personable and easy to work with. She is a very knowledgeable and patient therapist. I can't think of anyone that would not benefit from tapping into her vast knowledge and utilizing her services. ~ Allison Sykes
Lynn is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced instructors with whom I have had the honor of practicing. She possesses a wonderful heart and the capacity to "translate" anatomy and refine postures in ways that address the specific needs of each student. Truly one of the best! ~ Tara Tuomaala
Lynn is a fabulous therapist and a true healer. She is very observant of what parts are not properly aligned or what muscles are not working as they should. She is great at coming up with exercises to fix the issue and ways to engage the needed muscles. She has been a huge help when chiropractic and physical therapy were not effective. ~ Susan Schreier
