Calming The System: A Workshop about Yoga and Perimenopause/Menopause
Are you experiencing hot flashes, joint pain, brain fog, or sleep disruption? These are just some of the issues that accompany aging for any woman. Lynn will speak directly to these and other issues, then guide you through a yoga practice focused on calming the nervous system.
You do not have to be experiencing perimenopause or menopause to join this workshop.
Friday, January 24, 2025 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Treat Your Feet Workshop
Most of us have feet that lack mobility and strength, and yet we ask our feet to support the entire body in various ways all day long. Foot mobility and strength is directly linked to common complaints such as bunions, plantar fasciitis, and joint pain in other parts of the body. This two-hour workshop will address some of the common causes of those tight, stiff feet. Improve foot function for healthier feet and a healthier you.
Dress for some simple movement. We will work barefoot, no socks.
Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Find Your Footing: Improving Balance
There are some fancy balance poses out there, but a lot of us just want to make sure we can trust our feet under us. This workshop will look at ways to incorporate simple balance practices, foot and ankle stability, and lower leg strength throughout your daily activities. It will give you practical ways to work on balance that can increase your overall confidence and security on your feet.
Friday, April 4, 2025 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
You Are My Density: An Osteoporosis/Osteopenia Workshop
Bone density, bone robusticity – this topic is front and center as we age. How can we use yoga and movement to better load the bones? Subtle changes in how you create a pose can make big differences in the loads to the bones, and therefore improve bone robusticity. Specific poses are also recommended.
This workshop will look at asana from the vantage point of those trying to mitigate or prevent the effects of an osteoporosis or osteopenia diagnosis.
